Sauces, Dressings & Dips: common questions

How long do homemade sauces last in the fridge?

Mayonnaise-, yogurt- and dairy-based sauces are best within 4 to 5 days. Oil-and-vinegar sauces and cooked tomato or barbecue sauces keep about a week or longer.

Can I freeze homemade sauces?

Tomato sauces, pesto and barbecue sauces freeze well for up to 3 months. Mayonnaise- and dairy-based sauces do not freeze well.
