This week’s grocery list

Combined from all five recipes, for the servings each recipe makes. Check your cupboard first; staples like salt and oil are included so you can tick them off.

Produce

  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 small handful fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 lime · for 2 dinners
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 bell peppers, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

Meat & seafood

  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and halved

Dairy & eggs

  • 1 cup toppings such as sour cream, salsa, guacamole and shredded cheese
  • 12 ounces (340 g) spaghetti or egg noodles
  • 3/4 cup (60 g) finely grated Parmesan
  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn into pieces and patted dry
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 tablespoons butter · for 2 dinners

Bakery & tortillas

  • 1 ball pizza dough (half of our homemade dough, or 1 pound store-bought)
  • 12 slider rolls, in one connected sheet
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas, warmed

Pasta, rice & grains

  • 1 cup dry long-grain white rice, plus water required by its package
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Canned & jarred

  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup burger sauce and dill pickle slices

Baking

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Spices & seasonings

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder · for 2 dinners
  • 1 pinch flaky salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper · for 2 dinners
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 can (15 ounces) corn, drained
  • 1/2 cup easy no-cook pizza sauce
